Collection: Maddux of California
HISTORY: Known for a diverse catalog of TV lamps, Maddux of California featured designs that spanned the gamut from animal representations to human figures and abstract shapes.
William Maddux established Maddux of California in the late 1930s, gaining fame for producing TV lamps and various novelty items. Starting in a small Los Angeles workshop, the company expanded, relocating in 1941 and partnering with Jimmie Webster in 1944. After thriving during import-restricted WWII, it struggled post-war and was sold in 1949. Items marked "Wm. Maddux" are considered original. The brand, under different ownership, operated until 1980.
